MAS Motoring is an independent
driving school covering most areas of East and
West Sussex. It was founded by Mark Sinclair
and Sally Tyler to provide a professional and friendly
driving experience with both male and female instructors
at competitive rates.
Sally’s Background
Sally qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI)
after completing and passing all of her qualifying
stages first time. Having trained with BSM, (British
School of Motoring Ltd) and franchised as an ADI,
Sally left to co-found MAS Motoring.
Prior to ADI accreditation, Sally has had a successful
career in the travel industry working as a National
Account Manager for First Choice. She has worked
nationwide building relationships on both a commercial
and training level with various accounts. Sally also has
an equine degree and has managed an International
Dressage competition yard, along with being a qualified
AI Riding instructor. Along with driving instruction she
also teaches all aspects of riding to a range of
abilities. Sally’s interests include running. She has
recently completed the Brighton
half marathon.
Sally’s teaching background allows her to specialise in
apprehensive students. She
has a passion for teaching and
adopts a relaxed and patient style whilst remaining
professional and focused to achieving students goals at
all time.

David Baldock qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) back in 1997. He trained with
and then went on to work as a franchised instructor for the British School of Motoring (BSM)
Ltd. After becoming established as an ADI, he went on to become a driving instructor trainer
with BSM covering the South East Region and remains on the Official Register of Driving Instructor
Trainers (ORDIT). David is a grade 6 qualified instructor.
Prior to ADI accreditation,
Prior to ADI accreditation, David had a successful career as a maintenance engineer in the retirement property
industry. He holds a NVQ Level 3 in driving instructing and a fleet licence for company driving assessments.
Other certificates include successful completion of The Institute of Advanced Motoring (IAM) course and Royal
Society of Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA).
David is happily married to Julia and father to Becca. When not instructing,
he enjoys spending time on the golf course or playing for his local cricket team, ‘Hurst Green’..
Simon's Background
Preivous to becoming a driving instructor Simon worked as a Youth Worker becoming the co-ordinator of two
adventurous activities schemes and worked at numerous afterschool and youth clubs. He then moved into working
as a Police Officer for Sussex Police. Simon's extensive youth work and experience as a police officer have given
him excellant interpersonal skill and almost endless patience, when teaching new and challenging skills.
Simon is a natural at teaching people how to drive and his main focus is preparing students for an enjoyable
and safe driving career. When not teaching or co-ordinating activities he enjoys the odd night out with his
friends and wining on the Xbox.
Julia’s Background
Julia qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) after completing and passing her qualifying
stages in 2009 with the British School of Motoring (BSM). She has recently joined Mas Motoring to
teach in the Sussex area.
Julia is also a freelance piano teacher, working at two private schools as well having her own
practice at home. She is mother to two teenage children. When not running around after them,
her interests include cookery, gardening and trips to the theatre.
Julia’s varied teaching background brings a great deal of experience to tailoring the tuition
to her pupils' needs. She finds her language degree and years of hosting foreign students invaluable,
helping them overcome the difficulties they often face when learning to drive.
Janice's Background
Janice Charad qualified as a Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in 2003, having trained with BSM and has been working as a franchised Instructor for over eight years.
For the last 2 half years Janice has been teaching in Automatic cars which she thoughly enjoys.
She likes to keep her pupils relaxed and calm as she finds they learn better if they enjoy their lessons.
Janice is also interested in Motorbike riding and passed her test 2 years ago, she loves to go riding around the countryside at the weekend...weather permitting!.
Mark's Background
Mark qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) after
successfully completing both the Part 2 and Part 3 phases of the qualifying exams
first time. He trained with and then went on to work as a franchised instructor for
the British School of Motoring (BSM) Ltd. After becoming established as an ADI, he
left BSM to co found MAS Motoring.
Prior to ADI accreditation, Mark had a successful career with the Royal Air Force.
Based on a support helicopter unit, he has travelled to many different parts of the
world through work commitments. He competed in both the joint services ski and
snowboard championships and inter service shoot championships. His interests include
all manner of outdoor pursuits including Mountaineering, Snowboarding and Wakeboarding.
He also instructs Rock Climbing, Canoeing and has various qualifications in Outdoor
Education.
Mark's approach to driving tuition is very professional but he maintains a
relaxed and friendly attitude at all times.
